Silent Service (TV 1957-63) available on DVD

Twenty one episodes of The Silent Service TV episodes (1957 – 1963) are now available in DVD format to members of the past and present submarine world.  Each episode is about 20-25 minutes in length with the ads taken out, and come as 3 episodes per DVD.   Quality is good to excellent considering they were B&W 45 years ago.

I used to watch this program every week (yeah, I'm old), and been looking for a source to purchase. Interesting story on how this fellow got the copyright 'release' (or not). I post this FYI only.

I think this is only available at the moment for US or multi region DVD player’s  .
So I'll have to wait and see if it gets released one day in a euro DVD format.

I'm still watching  Victory At Sea again since I picked it up in DVD format the other week.
I also got the documentary style film Western Approaches that was made on location in the Atlantic during WW2.
It portrays the plight of U Boat victims in the Atlantic, and also has an interesting interview with a survivor - highly recommended.
