Hi guys,

Stew here,
I live in Australia and am a 43y old Audio/Lighting Tech eg concerts and shows. Im a
long time silent hunter player All the way from silent hunter and destroyer command to SH2 ,3, 4 and 5
Know a fair bit about mod installing and a bit about tweaking mods.
Currently play SH3 with GWX , sh4 "rarley" and mostly atm sh5,

hello!

never heard of those mods, what kind of mods are these?

i am prejudiced against sh 5, for various reasons..... however, it seems, sh 5 is mod-friendly, after all.

All these mods are downloaded from SUBSIM

I just realised I missed out TDW SH5.exe patcher a program that fixes some of the stock problems allso available at subsim
you should find links to all the mods ive used and more here.

sorry tried but cant post any links dont have permission
so ill give you the hard way
google subsim
goto the subsim radio room forums
goto silent hunterer 5 mods workshop forum
goto [INF] sobers mega mod ,,,,     its a stcick and should be at the top

you will find an extensive post with links to most of the mods ive used
and many more. Read the instructions as you will need a few utilities
like the generic mod enabler , a program that alows you to enable or
disable mods at the click of your mouse without messing your original install

 There are a few in my list you wont find because they are my own
but they are mainly specific to my PC setup and personal preferances.
Ill post a few screenies shortly and explain a few main features.


you will need to register at subsim to download mods but you should be able to view this thread without joining
You can register for free but will be limited to a few downloads per day unless you donate $5 then
you can download unlimited.

Here are the pics I promised of my game with mods activated
there is way too much to go into so ill point out the main attractions


First an Extra Campain The Final years extends game to 1945 wars end and all other campains reworked




Substancial Intergrated Officer Bar with multi level menus




Better recognition manual with SOAN "ships of all nations"  Flag friend or foe recognition chart and speed / time / distance charts



Proper full manual TDC



Additional Orders via Dialoug bubbles



This is only a small sample of how my game is setup and im only scratching the surface
of additions and fixes.
BEAR IN MIND I DID NOT CREATE THESE MODS and are not looking for such credit
this is just my personal collection, Allthough I can provide links and instructions
for all the mods and advice on how to install them correctly.
I play on a 3.2Ghz dual core 3gig ram win XP system with two HD5750 1G graphics cards
allthough only one graphic card will work with sh5 crossfire wont work. So I dont have a
fancy system. This mod compliation is stable I just played for 3hrs and 20 min
no probs and have used it for a while.
If anyone is interested in hearing more about my setup pls post here and ill start a
proper thread with a link here.

New here, just wish it was easier to install mods For silent hunter on steam but just my luck, theres no freakin workshop for it, steam really should add one since it has them for a gazillion other games  :(

On the upside I have always loved SH ever since I got SHII it in a multi-game pack for christmas some years ago, I was just a little thing then lol, nice to see theres an organized mod site though, I must admit.  clap1

Its not terribly difficult just use JSGME the bugger is finding them all I recently went through and got all of Sobers mega mod list and I'm of half a mind to post an all in one just to make it easier for people seeing as its upwards of 70 mods now

Hello and welcome aboard Stew U-582.  You have a great game set up, and apparently go for high realism.  You are more immersive than my game, with only RSRDC, TMO, and Real Atmos mods.  I dearly love my outside cameras though, and believe every WWII sub commander would have enjoyed this tool.  Spend lots of time watching enemy ships to determine how they react to my threat.  I must stick with SH4 though, because playing SH5 is just too difficult emotionally.  I'm an old cuss, and still remember.  It's only a game after all, so enjoy. . . . . El Halcon
