So, how do we get access to the main forum? I once downloaded all these files but due to a system disaster I lost the lot :( grrr...

I guess you didn't read the sticky post? That post clearly states that every new member has to post and wait for approval. Hence the name anti-spam board.

Anyway, you did write in the first post that you play SH4, so that will let you in.

Yes, well, sorry for not totally reading and understanding it.

Yes, played SHIV since its release - I have held off purchasing SHV due to the poor reviews I have read - sounds horrible!
I prefer SHIV - graphics still look good, good gameplay with the TMO mod and RSRD campaign changes - made this game into a winner that I still come back too time and again. However, I have never once finished a full campaign....that is a task I have to do!

Well, you're not the first to not have read it.  sm09

I have purchased all versions of SH, and well, SH4 is my favorite too. However, I somehow prefer the Atlantic scenario better, so I was hoping for an upgraded SH4 in SH5, but alas. The devs were not allowed to finish the game from the men holding the keys of the finances, so we have a type VII campaign only. The modders are working on the game as usual, so maybe in a couple of years we have an improved SH3 in our hands....
Anyway, I still haven't quite finished a campaign in SH4 either.

As to the future of the Silent Hunter series, from what I understand, UBI Soft has all but said Silent Hunter 5 will be the last installment in the series. cry3

One of the devs has just announced that he is leaving Ubisoft for another developping company.
Maybe in the future there may come a SH6, but we will probably have to wait A LONG TIME before that happens...

Shame, although I have not brought SHV due to the problems I keep reading about, despite the mods already done for it.
Still enjoying SHIV so much with TMO and RSRD - really excellent mod (along with your radio mod - such a neat idea to code the radio in the game).

SHVI? I always thought they should do a Japanese version - maybe as an expansion to SHIV.

Will wait on SHV though - wait till its modded better.
