SH5 music

Hi guys this is my first forum post, So apologies if the answer is already on the forum.
Quite simply, what has happened to the radio/ gramaphone feature in SH5. You can visit the radio room, but it would appear that the radio and gramaphone are just background. Whereas in SH3 & 4 you could interacte with the music i.e. switch it on or off and add music sourced from this forum.
whats your thoughts ?

If you install one of the new UI mods, (such as reaper7's excellent Ui-Boat), you can access the radio and gramophone directly through the crew commands interface. 

Makes it a simple task, although why this wasn't readily available in stock remains quite the mystery.
