SH5 saved games error

Wondering if anyone other than my system has detected this problem with saved games.  I can manually save a game or let the SH5 save the game. But once I load the save game, in either situation, I experience a video problem. The entire sub is a black silhouette, where as the sky, water, and surrounding areas is normal. Now I even upgraded my video card to ATI HD 5770 XFX, on my Win7, X64, 8G system.  I even played the game with and without MOD's, with the same problem.
The sound, and controls, all work just great.  But the Sub and the Watch Crew become a black silhouette.
Now there has to be a file within the game I can over-write and correct this problem.  I'm not a programmer and need guidance from you experts. <smile>
I don't wish to re-install, for I have read so many heart breaking stories. <bummer>

I await your reply with suggestions and instructions.

Were you getting this problem before you updated your card ?
Did you reset the Bios video settings to support the new card (some bios need this done).
Can I just ask why you think this game is so good that you are willing to throw
Money out the window just to get it to work.
Do you have any problems with any other games you play ??

The Bios Video was reset.
Yes, I did have the same problem before upgrade video card. Why did I spend the money on
a new card.  Just figured the old one wasn't able to handle Win7 64 & SHV.
As for spending money on SHV, I'm a nut.  I'm entertained with SHIII, SHIV, and now V.
Now if there is a better PC game, with MOD features, please let me know, for I'm interested.

But getting back to my problem.  There has to be a file within the game that addresses the SUB video/image.
I have even tried MOD's that change the SKIN, no luck. <>

Silent Hunter 5 is good for a while but lacks the staying power of 3 & 4
But worth a look.
As for your graphics problem it’s a strange one the only time I have seen this
With SH5 was when I added a mod in the middle of a mission so I’m wondering
If this is the same kind of thing. For some reason sh5 don’t like a mod added or removed during a mission
it can cause all kinds of strange things I even found
Sometimes when I added a mod in base it didn’t work properly until I had done the
First game save.
You can try to turn down the display settings of the game using the options but
I’m not sure this will help.
Looks like a re-install could be in order it works fine for me just remember to enter
Your user name and password and not the game key-code when asked best of luck.
