Hello All from the Newbie. 
I've been a student of Diesel boats for 50+ years.  Just acquired SH-4 and barely getting started, but looking fwd to some successful patrols.

Welcome to the game Sparky.  The best career start is from Asiatic Fleet in Cavite, PI.  The Jap fleets are gathering all around Luzon, and capital ship targets with troop ships are easy kills.  Starts your career with a jump.  Activate the radio reports and you can plot the Jap shipping lanes, so you can patrol where they travel.  Avoid attacking in shallow water - or you die quickly.  SH4 has been a grand favorite of mine for many years, and offers much entertainment.  Have fun . . . Thanks for the tips and kind words.  I'm still trying to get the whole program to run smoother, as it's a bit jerky right now.  Video card and RAM all good so I'm probably needing one of the patches.  There's a lot of reading through forums that needs to be done yet.
