: Never hide the truth from children...

What can I say?

Hiding the truth about sex for children can result in this:

 WTFu214
Mum 15, dad 13

I loved this remark from the dad of the new dad:
"I will talk to him again and it will be the birds and the bees talk. Some may say it’s too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby."

Yeah, you're right. It is too late...

UPDATE:
Well, it seems a similar situation has arosen in Denmark now...
Sorry, only a Danish link:

A girl of 13 and a boy of 12 at the time of their private hour will become parents later this year...

So the question is:
who is responsible for telling the truth about sex to children and when?
parents or school?
at 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13...?

I know it is a little late but...

IMHO it is the parents who should do the telling...just as it is the parents that should be talking abstinence...however there needs to be an age, early teens, where the facts of life are discussed in a formal classroom environment without all of the parental slants that otherwise would happen.

How young?  I guess it depends on the child.  Some are capable of learning about it earlier than others.
