I currently own a laptop with Windows 7 that was purchased in January 2010. I also have a desktop that was purchased in September 2002 that originally ran Windows Vista. However, it wouldn't play older games such as SH Commander's Edition, and to top it all off Vista crashed, so my friend - who's a computer whiz - wiped Vista off and partitioned the hard drive with both Windows 98 and Windows 2000. It's an antique by today's standards, but it works in a pinch. I'm planning on getting a new desktop eventually, but I'll still keep the old one.

your desktop sounds great but technology moves on and so a new games machine
will be needed to play the latest games

I have my laptop for the newer games...I don't really buy too many PC games, at that. The only series I really play are Silent Hunter and Grand Theft Auto.

Thx de systems above are nicely pimpt  rockon

It still does the job hura1, just one little thing does not work flawless and thats SH5 :D, I am thinking of replacing the 3850 5112mb videocard for a HD6790 1gb.
The card costs around 122 euros. Anyone tryed the HD6790 ??, The 3850 runs SH5 nics when i overclock it big time, needs a lot of cooling so that means a lot of noize :)

Cheers

The GeForce GTS450 runs Silent hunter 5 flawlessly and the Zotac version of the
card can be found quite cheep now so why spend out on a more expensive one?.
There is a thread about this card here ...

Also is windows 7 native to your machine or did you up-grade it as some older
software will interfere with the operating software see here also.

I miss my old duel core machine it was the first top grade machine I owned
and it worked great.   oldie1

Windows 7 is native to my laptop; I just wish it had more space on it. I'm probably going to get one of those 1TB external hard drives soon so I'll have more space.
