Hi,

It seems I have destroyed some of your signatures.
I have been messing with signature settings and mods for it, so I can be rid of the signatures from 0-post members who just sign up to put a spam signature up.
But the mod doesn't seem to work, and adjusting the settings in the mod and the standard setting fucked up your signatures.
Well, sorry to the active members. You'll have to remake them. But wait a couple of days before you do it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.  dooooh

It doesn't seem like the mod I wanted for the forum has been updated for SMF 2.0 RC5, which SHMF uses. And the other mod just doesn't work for this version either.
So the forum limit is back to the standard 500 character limit.

Again, sorry for fucking up your signatures. You can remake them now as you please. I won't mess with the 500 character limit again.

Well, I think it is okay to personalize our profiles with avatars and signatures like it is done in other forums. I have no problem with that in general.
I just didn't want to see new members signing up only to advertise in their signature for Viagra, internet business solutions, internet gamling, stock broker companies and I don't know what kind of crap they imagine they could advertise for here.
But I guess, they just have to be banned every time then. And they will be. No patience or understanding. It's clearly written in the TOS before they sign up. So it cannot come as a surprise when they'll see their profile banned.

If they only place it on their signatures and not post a page of crap
is this so bad I wonder. I placed a link in Brett25 Signature to
access the site where he is helping produce a mod for SH3.
Some links can be helpful but I also know some people abuse
anything but would not a advisory P.M or post be sufficient
the first time and then if they again place a crap link then the
full ban can be applied

Yes, it's bad. All of a sudden, the forum will be filled with crap posts, and it's time consuming to get rid of that. Time I don't wanna spend.

Helpfull links are welcome, both on topic links and off topic.

People who only sign up and immidiately or a bit later place spam links in their signature are not here to discuss the games, the mods and share their stories with the community. They are only here to annoy us, and a ban is therefore in good order.
Members who are well-known and by chance puts a link in the signature, which is not appropriate for anything good will get a pm.
There's a big difference.
