Public announcement: selling off SHMF
« on: April 01, 2011, 01:39:05 PM »
After a long consideration, I have decided I want to retire from the modding industry all-together.
The reason is personal.
That means selling the ownership of SHMF to the highest bidder.
You'll get this forum and the site and the right to the domain Silenthuntermods.com

The bid starts at 759 $

The auction is open now.

Well, yes it was an Aprils fool joke....  sm09

BUT it was made out of a serious reason. The donation part. Some people are willing to donate and some just aren't.
Look at subsim how people donate on a regular basis. Everyone can see it at the top. Here, too few does it.  sm05
And the big sign just hasn't done anything yet to help. Looking at the "who's online" tells me the visiting guests just look at the mod threads for the big part. A few guests look at the donation board, and then nothing more...
"A lot of ungratefull bastards" is what I think from time to time to be honest. arggggggg

I decided long time ago that the boards here shouldn't be hidden from guests, except boards with music.
A little bit is hidden and most members are here only for the hidden part, nothing more. Just look at all those 0-post members.
Then what to do?  kaffee

Some of the mods have been moved to member locations
in hope of preserving them for future use by
people who appreciate the work involved
not only producing the mods but also
storing them for others to use
There are also others who are interested in nothing more than causing trouble and
continually bitch and whine about anything just to feel important
not caring if people are denied use of a mod just to get there own way.
This attitude should not be shown by persons involved in mod storage
as seen in a short lived sister site.
Hiding behind a guest or false user name account and then E-Mailing
from a different site shows childish mentality.
We hope that Guests who come to view and download mods
will not mind registering and taking part in these forums.
