Oh, by the way, I got a mail about 1½ week ago that my thesis has been preapproved.
That means it will pass. I just haven't got the final grade yet. But it's a technicallity.
I now own the title Cand.Mag. that is I'm qualified & have the right to teach French and German.
I'm just so happy.
BUT
In the same moment, the Danish government has just decided that the society must pay for the current crisis, so the job insurance arrangement, where everybody pays for the right to receive an amount of money in case of unemployment, has been reduced from 4 years to 2 years of support. And that's not all. Before families with several children could receive an amount of money to support having more children. Now the government and the supporting parties have reduced it heavily and fixed it to max. 30,000 DKK per year. So some families loose more than 70,000 DKK per year.
Now, did they also make heavy taxes for the people, who started the financial crisis like the stockbrokers or the bank managers? No they haven't. And very generously, the government has lowered their own salaries with 5 %. Ouuhhhh so generously, considering that our prime minister earns 1,515,295 DKK per year, more than 126,000 DKK per month. POS is what I have to say.
So I just visited my job insurance agency today. They arrange an info day next week. But I doubt there is anything to do. This law arrangement will take effect from July 1st this year, I then have 2 years to find the right employment, and I'm more or less forbidden to have a side income as photographer. Either I choose to go full-time there, which I cannot (not enough jobs there as freelance), or stay in the insurance unemployment till something shows up. So now, either I find a teaching job, which I would prefer, or I might have to try find employment in a company which makes import-eksport of goods as translator or something.
On the bright side, there has to be elections in the autumn of 2011, and the opposition has allready declared that they have the intention to roll back these new effects. I cannot wait to see them win. Not only because of the latest development in politics, but also because our current government has ruled Denmark since 2001 with the help from an extreme-right-wing party, which primary objective is to reduce the rights of foreigners and in particular for moslems. They use a language which is so close to that of the nazis that it makes me vomit almost every time, I see them talk in television. They always emphasize them as defenders of everything which is Danish, you know all the NATIONAL values. And at the same time, they emphasize their SOCIAL responsability by taking care of the weak. So it's national minded and social minded. Like national-social right? Nazism is short for national-socialism. But that is a banned word. And they don't like the comparison, cause the nazis hunted the jews, and they do not. They don't mind about having jews in Denmark. But it's okay to hunt moslems, just because they are moslems. As I say, it makes me vomit to hear them talk, cause they have managed to make so many believe they are an honest party. Our former prime minister said that in his eyes, this party would never be "room clean" - an expression normally used about cats or dogs. In the late 90'ies many laughed about this, and then voted for the party anyway.
But this time, this extreme-right-wing party fucked up. The reduction of the 4 to 2 year financial support and for the child support has made a lot of their former electors rethink their support of this party. They voted for them in the belief that it was the party of "the small man". Now it has shown its true colors. It is a party which cares for nothing else than their desire to hurt emigrant families the most. They just couldn't stand to see a few families with 8 children, so now all the ethnically Danish families with 3 children or more have to pay the bill too.
If I didn't hate this party allready, I really hate them now.
