News:

SHMF has been alive for almost 6 years thanks to a few dedicated members.
However, most visitors were ungrateful and did not appreciate the reliable hosting of mods for our SH games.
Hence, the domain: silenthuntermods.com has been abandonned, and the forum itself has been saved on another subdomain in order to save some valuable posts. However, the mods...  well, there ain't room for them on the server, so the download links don't work anymore for most of them, unless the mods will be put up elsewhere by the modders themselves...
Personally, my own mods will be stored at mediafire, asap...

[REL] SeaWolf U-57 Game play & Visual Mods Collection

[REL] Phoenix 1957 Predator Class Sub Mod

This mod I have produced for total fun this makes the VIIB,VIIC,IXB subs look dam cool
The mod places the VII/B turm2 showing Racerboys twin flags mod and the diesel smoke on some subs.
the mod changes the subs from 1939 onwards
It has a version of the basic file v2 file in it so the subs are well armed and a little faster then most
The second flag showing is the Predator wolf head but you can changed it to what you want by changing the 7b_1_Flag_2 and also the 7b_2_Flag_2 to what ever you want
Also why not try YokonJack_AK VIIC Atlantic Predator skin if you use the VIIC is dam good
Just unpack the mod into your Mods folder Then enable using JSGME.
Any of the subs above you chose will start with the Turm fitted on it

[WIP] New Environment mod

Im messing with the water files again
This is the latest version water mod
But it seems the interest in environment mods has dwindled
Im play testing it for now this one is a 8Km version  kaffee

Phoenix 1957 Water 10Km Version 2

After once again attempting to use the environment program MEP now supplied by LSH3v5 and again finding that the water look fine but the sky was empty of clouds and the sun was tiny also the moon.   mtzi
I decided to rip the scene DAT.file apart and try to find the problem which prevented me from using this mod. Maybe it is because I am using a Nvidia graphics card but quite a few of the MEP file were set a mile too high which caused some of the problems that were happening when I tried to use the mod.
but as for no clouds in the sky this seemed to be cause by the clouds mapping being corrupted when I attempted to use the mod so I totally redone the DAT.file and now the whole thing seems to run fine.    chatten

So I have now produced my latest version Water mod V2 this is a 10Km version with updated sensors to work with any version mod.
It has the Horizon fix included and as the name states the objects should start to become visible to your crew and also you at approximately 10Km they seem to come out of the mist BUT not as before the mist looks natural and not looking like the ship is floating on it.
The water colours will look darker than before this is due to the horizon fix there are again 2 versions to choose from a green Atlantic water version and a blue Atlantic water version.

Phoenix 1957 Map Tools mod

This Mod places different matching icons to your Map Screen
Can be used with Stock or GWX versions of the game
Curser Icons re-cut and cleaned up from original mod
Original name of mod Phoenix1957 &     ban-sm    map tool icons
This version has none of the original version faults and cleaner Icons








Fully JSGME Ready just unpack it place it in your Mods folder  oldie1

This is the latest version of my shortcut bars
It brings a SH5 look to the shortcut bar
Just unpack it and place it in your Mods folder
Then let JSGME do its work

The Phoenix 1957 Screen Pack

This pack contains 3 screens to improve the look of the screens you see
While the game loads and the crew selection screen
Its JSGME ready just unpack it and place it in your
Mods folder (it is only images so will be ok to overwrite)

The First screen is the Game Loading Screen
This Screen was taken from one of Venatore’s screen packs
And has a loading bar added and also changes to the bottom of the screen
I would still like to say thank you to Venatore for releasing the original picture



The second screen is a modified version of JCWolfs loading screen
I use it as the Career Loading Screen
Again thanks to JCWolf



The last Screen is one I have added
Its the Crew Selection Screen hope you like it



I always have used the screen resolution in the game
Set to the same as my monitor
It has been said it makes no difference to the display
Well I think they are wrong I see quite a difference try it

I have to say to sir "SeaWolf U-57", it would seem anyplace i find content for SH3 that name is found soon after.... I say thank you for your hard work, your mods are always clean and stable! I would also like to Thank this Site\Moderators for their priceless time and effort. I am fairly new to SH3 mod community, but once I have learned more I will definitely try to contribute. Now I must off to be destroyed by escorts  hook2

I have noticed a large down turn in popularity of the main sites
although here at SHMF we have had a rise.
I think it go's to show that the old type of forum user like me has
seen there day. there is now a large amount of "Silly boy" posts
people just posting about anything and everything just to see there
post count grow.
I myself no longer play ether SH3 or SH5 why because the enjoyment for me
has been tainted by the continuous posting about how hard done by some
players are.
I have already stated that my mods can be updated and released at will
without my permission

please enjoy them

The use of the screen mod caused terrible fps problems in my setup.
I installed via generic mod enabler.
Any ideas?

All three screens are small size TGA images so should
not affect anything. sorry I have no idea why it slows anything down.  realno

[REL] The Phoenix 1957 Gun Sub v3.0

For 3 Game Versions

This mod has been updated to Version 3.0 for some very good reasons.

(1) The mod now has the LSHIII version deck gun placed in a new position on the deck

(2) The response time of the Deck and Flak guns turning to target has been shortened so as the M42 flak gun can engage fighters and not spend its time turning around and never shooting.

(3) Shorter reload times on all guns.

(4) Faster rate of fire from all guns.

(5) New deck TGA added to the Flecktarn skin to remove the doubling effect on the lifeboat blisters.

(6) Basic file updated also.

(7) Replaced start subs with Gunsubs I.E. if your career starts with a
type IIa or VIIB (type 2 or 7) then the career will start with a VIIC/42 Gunsub.
if however if it should start with a IX (type 9) then it will start with a IXC/40 Gunsub.

(9) Crew updated in both the type 7 and 9 Gunsubs to cover all stations
and upgraded with all medals.

(10) Also now included is Team Grumpsom Wake mod..


Now the Gun Sub is even deadlier to aircraft then before.





Ok so This mod changes the VIIC/42 into a Gun sub.

It is JSGME ready so just unpack the mod and pop it in there.

When you start a new career you will get a VIIC/42 or a IXC/40 Gunsub
You can then up-grade the sub any way you want to.

The subs will be selected in any Year and at any Base.



This mod includes its own version of the Basic file so you need to disable any other mod containing a basic file unless you enable this mod last

The sub Skin shown in the pictures is ....Venatore's VIIC Atlantic WorkHorse Skin IV.
Also Venatore's flaktarn uniforms are also used in this mod

The VIIC/42 with engine upgrade will do 30 knots
at ahead flank and about 21 knots ahead standard
using the exhaust turbo charge upgrade
thats already in the basic file.
as well as many more torps and ammo and a few more tweeks also.

This is a fun mod to use and that is what it was intended to be its not historically correct in any way.  shtsm
